Ich bin Amerikaner, und weiss nicht wie es in DE laeuft, aber gibt es ein Signing Bonus / Relocations allowance bei Big4 (inbesonders bei EY?)??

Ich steige bald als A1 in Muenchen ein, aber ich komme aus Kalifornien und muss ich eigentlich alles allein zahlen (zB. Flug, Moving Costs, etc)?

Hier gibts Signing Bonus ($5000) plus Relocations Allowance selbst wenn ich nach New York ziehe.

Help?!

Ich habe noch nicht meinen Vertrag untergeschrieben (oder sehen... haha! Ich warte noch weil es per Post geschickt war). Ich studiere an der UC Berkeley (Bachelors), und war 39500 angeboten.

Aber ich will auf jeden fall in DE arbeiten! :D Soll ich fuer ein Signing Bonus nachfragen? Oder ist das nicht in Ordnung in Deutschland? Sind Relocation Allowances normal auch fuer A1??!?

Auf jeden Fall kannst Du Deine Umzugskosten sonst steuerlich absetzen. So kriegst Du immerhin einen Teil zurück.

Für so einen großen Umzug würde ich einen Signing Bonus zur BEDINGUNG machen, um überhaupt zu unterscheiden. Auch innerhalb Deutschlands gibt es Umzugskostenerstattung, warum dann nicht für Überseeumzüge? Mit der Regelung bei EY bin ich nicht vertraut. Aber nur Mut, Nachfragen sollte helfen.

Was willst du denn in Deutschland??? Du kommst aus Berkeley??? Bleibt in den Staaten....Big4 zahlt nichts!!! 39500 ist auch nicht gerade viel....

signing bonus gibt es in dtl nicht (ggf kannst du nachfragen).

übrigens sind 39k in münchen nicht sehr viel, wie willst du die studiengebühren wieder reinkriegen???

Also wenn Du 39500 bekommst (Euro - nehme ich mal an), sollte Dir Dein neuer Arbeitgeber den Umzug schon zahlen. In München ist das Leben sehr teuer - das erlebe ich tagtäglich.

It's best you discuss this explicitly with the HR guys at E&Y. Usually they pay these kind of high relocation costs for upper executive stages (partner,manager etc), but not for graduates on A1 level. It always depends what is written in your contract and on what you agreed on during the job interview. I received 636EUR for my moving expenses (job entry level banking), but that's about it and it's the maximum amount according to law (well if you're married you get 1272EUR).

nein, Signing Boni sind erst bei Partnern üblich.
Insbesondere bei Equity Partnern, die dann im Normalfall Equity Anteile geschenkt bekommen...

Darunter gibt es keine Signing Boni und auch keine Relocation Allowances.

Du hast doch locker Umzugskosten/Makler etc. von 10000 Euro. Da geht dir ja ein drittel Jahresgehalt für Relocation drauf. Ich würde keinen Moment zögern, das Geld von meinem Arbeitgeber einzufordern.

Grundsätzlich gibt es definitiv Arbeitsgeber die den Umzug tragen, da E&Y aber eher geizig ist würde ich das nicht unterschreiben. Wenn sie dich unbedingt wollen werden sie sich aber schon beteiligen mMn.

Ich bin auch aus dem Ausland zu EY gekommen und die haben mir EUR 2.000 für den Umzug bezahlt.

Signing Bonus in D, für Absolventen? lol. Hier muss man eher noch selbst Geld mitbringen.

Sorry wegen der blöden Frage. Gibt es denn auch andere "Anteile" als "Equity-Anteile".? Ich dachte eigentlich, man hat entweder Anteile (-> sog. Equity-Partner) oder man hat keine (-> der Rest). Bis jetzt habe ich noch nichts davon gehört, dass es etwas dazwischen ("non-Equity-Anteil") gäbe...

Der Umzug ist in Deutschland aber von der Steuer absetzbar ;)

Es gibt nur Equity Anteile. Nix anderes. Was sollte es denn da geben? FK-"Anteile"? Das wären wohl Bonds, oder wie?

Es gibt allerdings sehr wohl Non-Equity Partner!

Jeder Equity Partner der Big 4 bekommt seine "anteile" geschenkt. Das unterscheidet das stewardship prinzip eben prinzipiell von den Eigentümer Partnerschaften der kleinen und Mittleren WPG oder den Stb- oder Zahnarztpraxen. Es kommt auf die "ernennung" zum Partner an, dann erhält man virtuelle share und entsprechende Gewinnanteile. Diese sind allerdings nicht mit Eigenkapitaleinlagen sondern der Mitarbeite verknüft Entsprechend kann man seine Anteile auch nicht verkaufen oder bekommt beim Ausscheiden aus dem Unternehmen etwas zurück.

So ist es zumindest bei meinem Cousin, der ist Partner eine Big 4 in Deutschland.

Die Equityanteile kosten 100kEUR das Stück und müssen sehr wohl gekauft werden. Im Normalfall bekommen die Partner ein (seeeehr zinsgünstiges )Darlehen, das in den Folgejahren über die Boni zurückgezahlt wird.

Yea, its 39600 Euros, not dollars!!! Well I want to go back because I loved my internship experience there and the atmosphere. And, living costs in Munich are WAY cheap compared to San Francisco. I currently pay 800USD/month to SHARE a room... yea... 2 people living in one room? that's completely normal... And that's in Berkeley; SF is even more expensive. If I wanted a 1 bedroom apartment, it would be at least $1600, whereas I see housing for less than 800EUR?!

Also, the starting salary at EY is about 55k USD, which in euro terms is about the same.

But what sucks is the tax/pension which take a lot. But its still ok.

So, I guess a signing bonus is out of the question, but moving costs should be asked about? I mean they'll pay for all the Working Permit/Visa stuff of course, and not all housing required Provisions, so I expect like 7000 Euros to be enough to cover literally EVERYTHING, like plane, furniture, deposit, etc.

I think all I'm really asking for is a plane ticket, and maybe housing for a month for when i'm actually LOOKING for the apt. Otherwise, I would have to buy new furniture/stuff even if I'm moving to San Francisco....

I am not working for E&Y, but rather a big consulting company. Signing bonus as mentioned is not typical and you will have a hard time on that. I see your point of moving to Germany though based on the living expenses and also the economic situation. Big welcome to our country and I hope you will like it here (I am currently working for a year in the U.S.)

Regarding the moving cost. I would only take a couple of suitcases and get on the plane. The rest you need to buy. Moving expenses in Germany are always only covering the transport of your goods and yourself. Some companies pay that (for me at my firm they paid 3,000? which was the real cost of moving). I know from KPMG though that they do not pay it . E&Y? What is possible though is that you deduct it from your annual taxes (so keep all the bills, airplane tickets etc.). This will probably give you back around 30% of the cost you had. In addition I would call HR and ask them kindly for some extra monetary support, pointing out your special situation.
