Question again, Humboldt Berlin(MEMS) VS Bonn Economics Master
Hallo, Leute!
I have asked you guys before about which school to go between HU Berlin and Frankfurt Goethe. I have chosen Humboldt MEMS then and now I'm having hard time again as I got admission from uni Bonn.
I applied both for PhD(with research master) and master in economics at the uni of Bonn and I was rejected for PhD and now accepted for master. I heard from someone doing Bachelor at Bonn, that it is not easy to pursue doctoral after normal master at the university of Bonn. Is that true?
I majored Mathematics in my undergraduate study and decided to study Economics at a graduate school. My research interest is mainly in Microeconomics theory and if possible, I'd like to study Sociology and Ethics also(not now, in 3 or 5 years) and wanna study and work interdisciplinarily. That is why I chose HU(top philosophy and social sci uni) than Frankfurt(monetary and finance focused).
As I searched for the limited information on the internet, I see both schools, HU and Bonn are great schools and Bonn is especially eminent in pure micro theory.
Do you have any knowledge about each school's research specialty? Or is it like both schools are great in general so I could study and research any specific area as I want?
Is there really only a slight chance for master students to pursue a doctoral after their study at Bonn? (If it is so, and if Bonn is the better place for me, I would choose Bonn and apply for a doctoral next year again.)
Is here anybody from inside of these schools?!!
Thank you for any of your help in advance,
and sorry to invade this German forum with my English post again ;)
